Doctor Who... Page 377

Quote: Matthew Stott @ January 7 2010, 10:44 AM GMT

All of his episdoes have been quite filler so far, haven't they? Not awful, but just 'they'll do', nothing to exciting sort of episodes. I was hoping Robert Shearman, who wrote 'Dalek', was also going to be back.

I am having a stab here but he is Welsh probably and I imagine there is some kind of condition or quota?

But some of the other writers have a very dodgy portfolio of some of the worst excesses of New Who and Torchwood between them.

True, though hopefully with a different hand now guiding them, they might deliver better material. Maybe. 'Praps. Still, six Moffatt episodes! (We'll not mention that, after such a good run, he's surely due a duffer or two, ok? Ok)

A Dr.Who script conference yesterday:

Bit poor taste posting pictures of minstrels, Griff.

At least they've found the disused quarry.

Is that Alec Guiness at the front?

I think the guy on the right is Heath Ledger.

"I thought you'd died; or gone to Wales" Is that a quote from something??

Google tells me "I thought you'd died or gone to Birmingham" is a Dr.Who quote.

Look at you, having Seventh Doctor script quotes on the tip of your tongue.

I'm sure Stott's had much worse on the tip of his tongue. Sick

I even know that was from Survival, and said to Ace. F**k I need a life. :(

I made sure Bussell had been thoroughly cleansed before hand. He still tasted funny though. Like old ham.

How green was my Valley? That's how f**king green it was, now f**k off back to America and make some more films glorifying genicide.

We've talked about swearing before, Marc. It's out of character.

It wasn't me swearing it was the Welshman.

If I had a pound for every time I heard that.

Well, I'm glad Gatiss is back.

Quote: Griff @ January 7 2010, 12:01 PM GMT

I think Gatiss is terrific in LOG and I like his Lucifer Box novels, but not fond of his Dr.Who episodes so far.

I enjoyed his first one, the Dickens one; the second one was bit more nondescript, though it had some good images; such as the faceless people, and the faces appearing on TV screens. The one he actually appeared in as a baddie (though didn't write) was dull, and featured a really terrible looking computer generated monster.
