I tend to get all my recomendations from TV Quick.
Who do you take TV recommendations from? Page 2

That was aimed at them, not you!
I can generally tell how good, mediocre or bad a show is going to be from the trailer alone. If I see a great trailer, I then hit the Interwebs to see what people are saying about it. The really good shows have a certain 'buzz' about them from the virtual community.
Most British viewers use the Terrestrial channels as their filter. So even though I saw The Simpsons, The Wire, 24, Dexter, etc. all on cable first, I had to wait for everyone else to catch up.
Even though I think I'm being all ultra hip by watchig them on cable, there are a couple of telly nerds I know who download entire US series before I've even heard of them. I won't take their word for things though, as they like Doctor Who.

Oh ok! Then I give you this....
Quote: Leevil @ January 6 2010, 1:34 AM GMTDon't really seek out others opinions. Although have been inspired to watch something after Charlie Brooker recommends it.
Same here. He's very passionate about telly so when he recommends something, it's always worth a look. He often finds some great little known gems too.

Is J-Pod any good?
Isn't it 'from whom do you take TV recommendations'? I though that the British talked more good than the Yanks.

A friend of mine in Vancouver worked on jPod and one of her jobs was to source a heap of dildos to which she had to carve off the balls and attach the dildos to chicken suits for a song and dance routine. We didn't get into the plot but I have to admit to being mildy curious.
Quote: Jacob Loves Comedy @ January 6 2010, 1:29 AM GMTIn terms of famous people??
No one, I don't think.
Quote: EllieJP @ January 6 2010, 9:23 AM GMTDid it smell of cats and Zooo?
or Bottom?
I wouldn't even like to know how it could smell of Zooo...
I'm like sand from the beach, I get bloody everywhere.
I'm not interested in what other people think about shows but I don't mean that in a 'fcuk off' sort of way. If something looks interesting I'll watch it, if it doesn't I don't.
I'm usually the one doing the recommending nowadays.

That'll do for me.
I get my recommendations from a castrating canuck.
