S**thead the card game

Myself and my friends enjoy the game of Shithead. Lots of people play this game I reckon but with their own rules so to speak. What rules does everyone have?

For example. our rules ( Estuary Rules ) are as follows

10 - Burns the deck ( card can be played on any other card )
2 - Resets the value back to 2 ( card can be played on any other card )
8 - Next player misses a go
9 - Next card has to be lower than a 9
7 - Invisible. Next player must play the card below the 7 ( card can be played on any other card )
Red King - Reverses direction of play

I know it's sad but I would really like to know what other rules people play. :)

The same as yous, I think? Haven't played in ages though.

Same as you. I got taught these whilst travelling in Aus. Ended up so drunk!

For those who don't know or can't remember: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shithead_%28card_game%29

I think the original only uses the 2 & 10

Same. Although without the 8 and 9. Haven't played for ages. I now favour 'gin rummy' of 'hunt the c**t' (Hearts).

I remember being taught this game in a pub in Beeston years ago, it was a good laugh but I can't remember how to play it now. Can someone remind me?

Oh what pub!? I live near Beeston!

And yeah rules pretty much the same here.

I don't know what any of you are talking about.

I can play Snap...?

I'm more a Top Trumps man.

I'm quite partial to Uno.

Uno's pretty good too, but Shithead is king, imho.

Same but without the 9 or 7 rules. We used the Jack as the 'skip the next player' card instead of 8.

We also had 2 versions:

Shithead - you lay the face up cards yourself

Bastard Shithead - the face up cards are dealt that way.

The face down cards are dealt as-is for both versions.

Another great silly card game is '99'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninety-nine_(addition_card_game)

Especially fun if you use one of those trick decks which is half made up of the 9 of hearts.

we play Pissy Legs when time is short. It's basically the same but You don't take a card from the deck after laying one down. so you both only have 9 cards. Then one further is Itchy finger, with six cards, and finally, Hangnail, with just the three face down cards being used.

I love Irish Snap.

I love Irish Snap.

Is that were none matching pairs are snap?

It's where the whole deck is split between the players.

You can't see the cards.

The first person starts and says "Ace" and lays the first card.
Second person says "2" and lays the second card and so forth.

If the card matches the number spoken then everyone says snap and puts their hands on top of the cards. First hand down wins the cards.

The nunber 10 is said twice to make it harder. i.e. 8,9,10,10,Jack,Queen...
