Harry Venning on writing radio comedy

Year above me at school. My brother's best friend at the time, they edited the school mag together. Sent an email to him when I wrote the first ep of EastEnders for the new millennium when he was reviewing TV for the stage. Heard nothing back. Some years later I gave CITC a glowing review on C4.

I met Arnold Schwarzenegger once.

I will meet Marc P once. Beat that.

Er... my post still stands.

I thought Clare in the Community was one of the best things on radio in recent years, along with Ed Reardon. Can't imagine that on t.v. now either, although you could have done in an earlier era.

There was a pilot made for ITV I think but I'm not sure it ever got aired. I have no idea why the BBC have never made it for TV, it's ace. He is a really talented artist/cartoonist too and gave me the notion of taking my first play to the Edinburgh Festival.

And Badge's post stands! :)

Here's one he did for a poem what I sold. (twice)

What I like about Claire in the Community is that it's a good accessible mainstream sitcom, the likes of which modern TV struggles to make.
