Christ, they really did milk his demise. Back in the old days, the Doctor would lie down in a corner somewhere and then a bad special effect would make him the new Doctor.

None of this intergalactic 'This Is Your Life' shenanni-bollox with everyone have a big girly blub.

Oh and he even had time to do some gay matchmaking in the Lidl version of the Cantina.

It wasn't so awful but it was a ridiculous mess. Loads of ideas squashed together and the Gallifrey bit felt like it was over in 1o minutes. Timothy Dalton deserved more.

It felt like the point was that the Dr would have to kill and for that would have to die. But instead as ever with RTD they flubbed it.

I thought he was going to shoot himself in the noggin at one point.
That would have been pretty cool.

I wouldn't be overly concerned Tennant has played the Doctor for a while so it's obvious they wouldn't have him bounding out all different straight away. Although they did in the old days

I think it's lovely John Merrick has found employment with the BBC.

New series does look diferent though, which can only be a good thing. Bring back Ecclestone says Sootyj

Remember when new Who came out and there was a big rumour mill that thought Eccelston was the Master pretending to be the Doctor and that's what the Bad Wolf was all about...good times.

That would have been so f**king awesome.
