Anyone else just see Day of the Triffids? Page 4

The changes were sweeping and all unnecessary for the translation to the screen.

It's been ages since I read the book, so I can't comment on that. But what struck me was how closely the new TV version aped the 1981 TV series. So much so that it seemed to be based on that, rather than Wyndham's original novel. I still think the 1981 show was better. Certainly edgier, and with darker undercurrents. But this new one was fun. And there aren't many BBC1 prime time shows that make me forego my DVD collection.

This was a very entertaining few hours worth of TV.

Stunning looking show, I thought.

I liked the pollen coming down like snow. That was pretty.

I'm just saying, why don't we round them all up and kill 'em? Beat them to death with broom handles.

Broom handles? Matt, that's gonna require a whole lot of beating. A whole lot.

It ain't 2010 yet. I don't want to peak to soon.

As in Daniel?

*actually can't diss him too much, as he did co-write the brilliant Not Going Out Christmas special.

I enjoyed it, but found it a bit confusing at times. The story jumped around and seemed a bit random. (maybe it was the Bailey's?)

Dougray Scott, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestly were all rather hunky though. Lovey

That's 90 minutes I'm not going to get back. How many posts could I have made in that time? Not bothering with part 2.

For the BBC, you know what? That was actually 'good'.
