The Life and Times of Jeremy Spicer Page 9

I have only filmed a couple of monologues one was about seven minutes long, the other was about thirteen. Length isn't an issue as long as there is enough story to carry it. Mister Bennetts talking heads were 30 Mins after all, although they were in sections with different camera set ups etc, time passing and what not.

The second series of Marion and Geoff had six very good 30 minute monologues.

Are you saying mine weren't any good! :)

Its all getting abit catty on this subject.

James, I'm going to be honest mate (and its probably been said before) but if you need to explain the comedy, its not really working.

This is a well put together clip and your acting is really good.
But please mate take the critism on the chin, defending yourself in such an aggressive way isn't doing the work any favours.
As you can see by most of the replys you refusing to accept other peoples opinions of your work is not really winning you any friends, and in short these are the people that will watch/listen to your stuff.

As David said, the guys on here really do have the best views on whats working and whats not, as I said before.... take it, use it, make it better!

You don't even have to ask that question! :)

If you would have read the box you copied that from you would know it was called information not bio. The biography was posted on my website with the link and the big massive ego ridden picture of me. Look before you comment.

I think you are quite rude and actually quite arrogant. People have taken time to try and help you, all you've done is basically told them to 'f**k off' with a I know best attitude.

I am convinced that the reason you keep posting is just to keep your ego inflated as you see your thread posts rise (half due to you by the way)

LISTEN to people. We didn't like it, stop trying to convince people to like it.

You are starting to go from an ambitious likeable to an annoyance who thinks he is way better than he is.

Could you forward this onto Dave Cameron please?

Read "info" and Bio" but they do contradict. Got well past three minutes and enjoyed what I saw, but I am rubbish at watching long clips, so didn't make it to the end. I think the idea of doing some shorter clips to help people familiarise themselves with the character is a good one. :)

I think he did that with his 'Thank You For The Music' thread too.

Hmmmm. I think I'm out of this thread now.

Meow!

But yes, that is certainly the impression that is coming across.....
Sorry James, you need to lose the chip, turn your head to the left or right and you'll find it...... Whistling nnocently

It was obvious it was always going to turn out this way, Ben.

As soon as a few people said they didn't like it, I thought 'here we go'...

and Here. We. Are...Again.

What accents can/can't you do James? I have a couple of ideas for character monologues already... you could even just record them as audio and get some feedback.

I made it to 3 minutes.
It's like Alan Partridge written by Ingmar Bergman and performed by a Cyberman.

I would say you've written better but I'm not sure you have.

Laughing out loud

Your first line should contain a joke. Or - worse case scenario - a feed for a joke in your second line. The 38 seconds of this that I watched contained no jokes at all. It felt a bit like a training video for the Samaritans - the real life ramblings of a bloke before he retired to his shed to drink weed killer.

Godot made me LOL as ever the hilarious bastard. The bastard child of Dennis Norden and Dennis Nilsen.
