Hi, I'm a student from a grammar school in Germany and I have to write an essay about racial integration in sitcoms.
Perhaps somebody could give me some information about it or knows where I can get some.
Thank you very much

Here in Britain we've yet to produce anything that matches the brilliance of your own 'Turkish for Beginners'.
Speaking of racism in sitcom, I watched 'Dad's Army' the movie today. Corporal Jones was going on about his work in the Sudan and spoke of 'The Fuzzy Wuzzies'. I've watched it for years and never had I thought of the possibility of 'Fuzzy Wuzzy' being a racist term, but it got me thinking today. Is it a racist term?

Not really.
But what is it referring to. What is a 'Fuzzy Wuzzy'? Good old wikipedia- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadendoa
See? Not racist, just a hairdressing criticism.
It's a historical relevant term. It was common vernacular for the Hadennoa tribe who the British fought in the Sudanese war.

Saying this, quoting Kipling as a way of deflecting cries of racism is something of a novelty.
He does bake exceedingly good (if racist) cakes.

No he's homophobic.
