Can't believe that about Brittany Murphy!
She was one of those very vibrant type people.
And young. Bizarre.

Sometimes vibrant = hopped up on dope.

Well, yes. She did seem the type.
:)

Put me in your will before you mainline that next speedball.

I'm sure him being involved in the RATM label will soften the blow.

Is that right? Is he profiting from the RatM success?

Sony are (via the Epic label) making a profit from RATM's success. Sony owns a major stake in Simon Cowell's label Syco, which is a completely separate subsidiary to Epic. So in short - no.

Yup. And RATM are donating all their profits to charity, and putting on a free show next year to say thank you; pretty nice, hey?

But the message remains the same, the only acts who get promoted to the top of the charts are those who are signed to major labels. It would have been better to pick a band who were signed to a indie label, but no one has heard of those guys because they haven't had the mass-marketing to back them like RATM and Joe McElderry have... oh.

I can't fault the band for either of these things, but it is worth remembering that they won't get all of the money from the sales. Dependent on their contract Sony may take most of the money. Still, nice of them to give what they can, I guess.

Ellie went for a run this morning, and slipped up onto her bum. Luckily there's a lot of padding. :)

Yeah but this was a Facebook campaign stared by a fairly normal bloke and his wife. As he said on BBC News 24, he didn't even consider what label RATM were on when he picked that as the song to promote. He just thought it would be a giggle for 'Killing In The Name' to go up against The X Factor, as an alternative Christmas No. 1.

The point of this campaign as I see it was not particularly anti-corporate. It was more just a "power to the people" moment. As a bonus the victory celebrated music made from the soul, over anaemic music made mostly for profit. (Oh, and raised a nice few quid for a very worthy charity.)

That would have been better in some ways, but this is funny enough none the less.

Absolutely, it's not about "getting back and Joe, or bullying him or whatever Simon and Cheryl said... it's just about the power of people... and yes, I ehar don hte RATM interview on Radio 1 they're donating a large amount to charity.

P.S. anyone seen the X Factor/ RATM video with the mouth dubbing. Very funny.

Chipolata's having trouble with his synaptic pointing device. It's like being in a wheelchair. Only much worse. :(

I heard a girl on the radio crying yesterday because Joe hadn't got to number one. :D
