There was a sketch on that god awful TV To Go with Mackenzie Crook and Hugh Dennis where he says 'Dad, I've something to tell you . . . I'm not gay. I just can't pull'. (which was the funniest one they did - and the only one I can remember. Along with 'I alays wanted to see my name in lights . . . So I changed my name to Odeon'.
Bit similar to that.
