Any idea what the blue screen messages are? The only ones I've ever had were hardware issues.

Not really, Windows just reports it as a "blue screen" event (after recovery) and the details of the mini-dump. It might be due to a power surge or overheating - though the fan seems to working fine. No major numbers of processes stressing the processor etc...

Weird thing is it seems to only occur at around 2-3am. I've no scheduled tasks related to that time which could be causing it. No obvious viruses or malware on board.

I've now updated all my hardware drivers/BIOS in light of the Windows 7 upgrade and changed some of the power settings. Will see if that resolves the issue. If not, someone's going to have to take a look inside my laptop. :(

Robyn's brother just dumped a load of condoms on the table. :|

LOL, why?

Is there not an ALL CAPITALS NON-SENSICAL ERROR MESSAGE in the dump?

But yeah, if it keeps on happening it might be worth getting your hardware looked at. (Oo er.)

To be honest, not being a tech-head, I've not really had a good look at the dump details... Errr A good idea, of course, which I shall do if it happens again. Cheers. ;)

Out of curiosity, does it save the blue screen error in a .txt file anywhere? I've resorted to taking a photo of it before, which is no easy task when they flash for 1/8th of a second.

They were giving them out for free at school, apparently, and he decided to "abuse the system".Unimpressed

To be honest, I've not even seen any evidence of the famous "blue screen". When it goes it literally is like having all the power removed. Straight to "off", despite the fully-charged battery pack. I suspect it's a hardware issue, but as it only has started since upgrading to Windows 7 I'm not 100% convinced yet. Fortunately, on re-booting, Windows seems quite happy to start normally and I haven't had any files corrupted or lost (as yet). Not happy about it, but there you go...

Ah, mine was actually a general Windows question. Pleased

I'm sure he'll be abusing himself later too... :D

I reaaaaally never ever want to think about that.

Your mind, forever in the gutter. I just meant overdoing homework... Rolling eyes

Liquid?

There were some alcoholic beverages of the festive kind involved. And then watched a film.
