Bigfella, a friend of Dawn's popped in for a moment and I told her your story and she said something which led me to think that you are religious.

What did she say that made you think that?

I hope this isn't too personal a question but are you? And if so what are you exact beliefs? Algican or Catholic or other?

"There is but one Jesus Christ. The rest is a dispute over trifles."

A running joke...for my history friends.

Happy Bday big man. What a year you've had! Next year Bigfella for PM.

Hey BF

I've been 'here' since Feb this year and it's been great following your personal and professional successes! We've not met but you always seem lovely, funny and genuine. If only we all were on here!

You asked about our years. I've had an unusually good one too. The first time I've really gone for it writing wise and I've had a great time and been fortunate enough to see a few things I've written actually get performed which included working with some excellent casts and directors. I even got paid a little bit thanks to Newsrevue and Newsjack and am v excited about the Newsjack Workshop tomorrow.

Work wise I started the year as a 'temp' and then blagged a permanent position. I had an interview yesterday for a promotion which went OK. Not the end of the world if I don't get it but would be a bonus if I did. (Not bonus in the banker sense though).

Partly through this site I've chatted to and met some fab people who share my love for comedy and in some cases for writing it which has been excellent. I'm really pleased to be collaborating with people now too.

And I met someone especially lovely this year. :)

But... none of this sits well with my naturally pessimistic demeanor so I fully expect it all to go tits up next year. However, until then it's all groovy.

xx

Sounds like you had a good year to Jane P :) Hopefully that continues

Thanks Gavin - so mysterious in that mask of yours...

:)

It's been quite a strange year for me. I've been promised so much and been let down so many times job wise. Having the start of my dream career in comedy dangled in front of me and taken away a number of times can only have a negative effect after a while. But I remain hopeful that I will fall upon the right thing by accident and I shall succeed in whatever it is, whether in or out of London.

Amazingly still very happy with the boyfriend and family life is good.

I guess I can only hope for the sex change and all will be complete this year... oh and to get my washing machine fixed so I don't have to turn my knickers inside out.

Sick

Good luck with it all next year. Must be frustrating to get so close, but keep at it!

:)

I knew that everyone could be my operation date.

With my Aaron hat on, how important that missing space in 'every one'. It sounds like we all could all be having a romantic candelight dinner for two around an operating table.

It's quite an image...
:O

Please no one say they beat the world record for wanking!

No - but I came close on several occassions.

Well done, BF.

I would also like to add my congratulations to you BF and add my thanks for your many helpful comments. :)

My year has been a mixed bag. Amazing holiday in California and Canada.
Hating the day job with a dark passion but this in turn lead me to start writing and join here which has been my best thing. Now I am excited about submitting some stuff in the new year and seeing if anything happens.

Well done BF. You should be pleased as punch with yourself after that year.

:) Some of us literally too. ;)

Ooh and re holidays I went to the Edinburgh festival for the first time this year! Great fun. See you all there next year.

My year? You know what, it's been an absolute DOMINATOR.

Work: all gravy.
Play: believe it, more colours than the rainbow.
Rest: only had time for two proper holidays ( but did manage to fit in three city breaks on top)

Many of my plans were disturbed by Mr D having an accident which left him incapacited over the summer, so no holiday, etc, except for camping out in the garden, which was a bit of a challenge with a wheelchair.

But I had a few short films I'd written made; a couple of which I'm quite pleased with and got some other scripts taken seriously; although no money as yet.

Overall it seems the year has gone ridiculously quickly and I hope next year is better. :)
