Shut the uck up, why don't you.

What's a duck got to do with it?

I am currently writing a brand new monologue/talking head for myself called A Matter of Principle. Writing is going like a dream.

A Matter of Principle "tells the story of solitary garden who works for his local council"

A surrealist piece, James? Or is that meant to be "gardener"? ;)

And sorry to Ben for misreading his intent earlier. It was wrong of me. :$ :)

It's all water under the bridge, my friend.

Thanks for pointing that out it will be changed.

Have you ever seen 'Being There', James?

No probs. Like the sound of it, btw.

Some people think that's brilliant. Not me.

No I haven't.

That was my favourite film for quite a while. Many years ago.

I've read that the main character is a gardener too.

It's a great performance by Sellers and a generally sweet film. The satirical element of the story drags a bit and is rather too implausible. Don't worry, James, it has very little to do with gardening really. :)

Ok that's a relief.

I think Tim's summary of Being There is probably my view on it too.

I doubt Sellers' character is similar to James' creation. He is solitary though. And a gardener.

From what I've read they aren't that similar apart from the two points you raised. My character is slightly more similar to Wilfred Paterson (David Haig) in Playing Sandwiches, one of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads.

Excellent film. And really quite sad.
