In the meantime, they could put together an Election Night special and film some alternate endings.

They could do that bit about "Ray's Taxis".

I wonder what they're going to do with the next series?

They should do a speculative near-future series with the BNP in power.

Someone on another board met Peter Capaldi the other night. He said he didn't know how it ends because they filmed several different endings. He also said there will be another series but he's unsure if Tucker will appear at all.

Loved the last episode. The look of realisation on Tucker's face was perfect.

I got the impression during the Hugh Abbot years that the Julius character was Peter Mandleson to Tucker's Alistair Campbell. And Julius certainly shares a number of effete qualities with Mandleson.

IIRC, on one of the commentaries Armando (or someone) says that the real inspiration for Julius is John Birt, i.e. a meddling "blue skies" fixer, who basically gets in the way of running government due to his complicated schemes and mad "management speak"-inspired language. Very much based on the way Birt used to infect the BBC with over-regulation and doublespeak when he ran things there.

I really wish I could watch this show, the bits I've seen I've really enjoyed, but that camera work starts making me feel sick after ten minutes or so. Why does it have to be so bloody shaky?

I've watched the last three or four episodes and it's been great. It also no longer makes me feel sick, so the camera must have settled down a bit. I do miss Langham in it though, his character was great. 'I think my driver despises me' :D

"Yes! I am King at remembering my own password."

"'What do you do?' 'Oh, you know, I'm Minister for... stuff.'"

That would be beyond brilliant. Esp if Armando, Peter and David hosted...

Can we all just forget all that strange business and have him back? No? Ok.

Unfortunately, I imagine he still has to sign the 'Strange Business' register.

Unfortunately, I imagine he still has to sign the 'Strange Business' register.

Does one actually turn up to sign it? Or is it like taking the register at school?

"Nonce?"
"Here, sir."
"Paedo?
"Here, sir."
"Lesbian affair teacher?"
"Here, sir."
"Date rapist?"
"Here, sir."
"Park Bushes Masturbator?... Park Bushes Masturbator?"
"He's gone to the toilet, sir"

It's pretty sad that for thirty years everybody turned a blind eye to Polanski drugging and anally raping a 14-year-old, but one of the most talented comic actors in the country gets permanently shitcanned for a (relatively) minor crime.

Glitter may be on a blacklist, but radio stations are still playing The Who, aren't they? People still buy their records.

Langham's paid the price for his crime. I say let him back on telly.

Re: The Who - one of the only funny bits on the last Kevin Bishop series was a throwaway comment about 'Pete Townshend book not out yet'.

Why shouldn't they play The Who, there weren't any convictions, just a caution.

Fortunately for him, Townshend was able to use the 'Townshend defence' before Langham had a chance.
