Hm, difficult. The central concept hasn't changed, and I think still holds fairly well (the obscure facts, little bits of trivia and whatnot), but the presentation and style of the show seems to have drifted to be more of a caricature of itself; too self-indulgent.

So I guess yes and no - and the aspects where it may have done so are not beyond remedy.

SI. I like that.

Just watching the episode with Rob Brydon and Ben Miller, don't know how anyone could get them mixed up.

Ben is a babe, and a phd in physics...

SI. I like that.

Well it's not inherently bad...

I always used to get them mixed up. Then when I saw this episode I realised it wasn't just me.

Bryson seemed a bit thick in comparison, and perhaps willfully ignorant.

Ah nice one! I'm really ambivalent about Lee Mack though after he stood a 15 year old kid up on LAT Apollo and laughed at how fat he was in front of a few million people. I find him funny, but that was low and cheap and I feel a bit angry when I see him now.

It was a few months back in a Live At The Apollo appearance. I don't remember if he was guest or host. Anyway, it was the kid's birthday and he stood him and his mate up and spent 5 or 10 mins making fat jokes about the birthday boy. I think he'd just turned 16, and Lee's first joke was "what, stone?". His mate kept shaking his head imploringly, but that didn't stop him. I really can't believe no-one in that entire audience stood up for him and called Mack up for the utter c**t he was being.

I can believe that no-one stood up for him. Mack was laying into him quite hard, I think most people in the audience were glad it wasn't them being picked on :)
