Adam,

Are you a vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian or a 'flexitarian'?

Uhm, I'm none of the above, I'm afraid. I haven't eaten beef or lamb for 14 years and I have always tried to eat as little meat as possible. I only really eat chicken now maybe once a week and fish now and then. I always find with vegetarian/vegan meals that you never really have a sustained feeling of fullness so you are more likely to fall off the wagon (if you are trying to limit the amount you eat) and snack. If it works for you/me then that's good but I wouldn't go telling other people what to do/not do, meat eaters and veg(an)etarians alike. How long have you been a vegetarian then Lee.

Oh, Christ, people finding out I'm a vegetarian and asking "What do you eat?" Such a retarded question.

I eat the same shit as you with the exception of chicken, cow, pig, turkey and fish. It's not like meat-eaters have a massive variety in their diets. It's mainly just those five things.

And meat-eaters mocking meat-free sausages and burgers for trying to imitate meat, that really f**ks me off as well.

Oh, sausages and burgers occur naturally in animals, do they? Chickens don't have nuggets, even Carls Jr knows that, you f**king tards.

Anyway, so what do you actually eat, Kev?

Soy is a very versatile bean.

Yeah, but how often do people eat rabbit or sheep or any of the others? It's hardly a staple.

After sauce I'm struggling . .

But why do Vs have to make their beany things into the shape of the meaty things that we eat?

I mean, we don't have minced lamb, colour it orange, roll it up and call it a meaty carrot !

Just eat slush.

:)

Like you, I stopped or drastically cut down eating red meat about 5 years ago. And apart from the odd pork sausage would only eat fish and chicken. I went "propa" veggie about 2 years ago.

I hope I never come across as preachy, as I'm not that bothered what others eat. I was a meat eater for long enough to understand how alien it would be not to eat it. I'd encourage the idea that you can enjoy a vegetarian version of a meal as much as a non-veggie one though. I was always been happy to eat a Veggie lasagne as I enjoyed vegetables and never think of it as trying to replicate a "Real" lasagne.

The reason "fake meat" exists, apart from wanting to feed those cravings, is a way to intake essential proteins and vitamins (some of which are most likely artificially added into real meat). If you don't like the taste then fair enough, but if you can't understand why food comes in certain shapes then that's just ignorance. Hot dog shapes fit in Hot Dog Rolls, Round Burger shapes fit in burger buns, etc.

I'm quite happy to say I've sat on both sides of the fence. And I've got to say, it's greener on the other side, Oldrocker.

:)

Cravings? Can't say I have any. That stuff just tastes good. And, as any meat-eater will smugly tell you, it tastes nothing like "the real thing".

Question for you Lee -- there was a news story last week about how scientists have grown a pork chop from cells taken from a live pig. Assuming they manage to perfect the process, create a safe, edible, cruelty-free chop... would you eat the chop? I can't say I would.

I don't really have any cravings to eat real meat. I just meant to feed the craving of fast food, for example. Veg is great n all. But sometimes I crave a greasy burger!

It's closed down now, I think :( but RedVeg in C. London did the best burgers!

Probably not, as the idea of putting flesh in my mouth now, makes me go Sick

I have a weakness for dairy milk chocolate, cheese and occasionally eggs. Apart from that, I'm nearly vegan. ;) In fact, I haven't had an egg in a while, hopefully the last one, was my last one.

Vegan? Poof.
