The Fflaps Investigate - Aliens - Part 1

A new Slagg Brothers' video.

"Terry and Jerry Fflaps are two hapless argumentative and back-biting brothers who have the bad luck to be investigative journalists in a sleepy and mundane town in the Welsh valleys. Each week they examine a new topic but seem far more interested in undermining each other. The first episode takes place at the scene of the Welsh Roswell."

A trial run in the process of planning, shooting, and editing a complete sitcom pilot.

Hope you like.

Great lines, characters and set-up. Good to see more Slaggs, it's been too long!

Very funny, very silly and very good!

I already left feedback on YouTube. I enjoyed it, and look forward to 'Part 2'.

:)

These are very enjoyable. Some great silly moments between the pair and a nice step-up in production quality!

Cheers guys, really appreciated. And thanks to everyone else who's watched. I know it's always a big ask, esp as we move away from shorts to longer pieces.

Cheers,
SlagA

It occupies a territory somewhere between Bottom and the Chuckle brothers, but there are some great lines in there.

Couldn't get in to it mate, I think this would be a lot better if you weren't talking to the camera and stopped with the slapstick style of acting, much like what Timbo says really.

I must admit I did enjoy the welsh breakfast line though :D

Yep, Bottom was a definite influence in this one.

The talking to camera bits represent their switches from reality to footage destined for their satellite TV show. Whenever the Fflaps TV logo appears, they're in the process of recording their show. After we shot and edited the piece, we came to a similar conclusion as yourself. In future Fflaps' scripts, the TV segments (interviews and to-camera presenting) will take a back seat and we'll focus more on the Fflaps twins, their family and friends.

But I do agree re: slapstick. I had to argue (and lost) regarding certain physical movements and the running, which I think is way too stylized and slapstick. So I will re-insist that they don't over-egg the pudding.
