She's not the best comedy actress though - and certainly not funny enough to carry this. The rest of the cast - with their comedy pedigrees - must be gutted to play second fiddle to old botox chops. :)

:O

She says she's stopped using botox, I thought she was great in Kiss Me Kate.

She stopped a few months ago, it takes a while to wear off.

I have a funny recording somewhere where me and my mate Mike are pretending to be Amanada Holden and Jamie Theaksten.

I would have thought this is a rare occasion where the other actors were glad to have as few lines as possible. I can't tell whether or not Patrick Baladi was acting in a bemused "Neil talking to David Brent" way, or whether he was just genuinely bemused about what he was being asked to do.

Link!? :D

I never put it up anywhere. We'd had a few drinks and recorded a little radio show, but it was probably only funny to us (bit like Next Door To Alice...)

I get accused of looking like Patrick Baladi by my partner and her mother and other people!

So I shall watch with interest.

She's not the best comedy actress

There are currently 3,400,000,000 women in the world 3,399,999,999 of whom are not the best comedy actress.

It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Laughing out loud (you do a bit)

Maybe his older brother? ;)

Actually whilst I am in the mood for confessing things I enjoyed Mad About Alice too, Amanda Holden was very good in it, I think she is actually a very good comedy actress just needs the right vehicle. She could be the new Joanna Lumley.

I think she should stop doing Britain's Got Talent, etc then, because it kind of detracts when watching her on-screen.

Maybe.

I'm scratching my head over this. The electric buzzer joke was funny and there were a few rude jokes but then the rest was bland and far too safe. Also, plot holes galore, particularly the dog kidnap plot which was so dominant in the episode and then he appeared with very little pay-off.

The problem with having an audience sitcom is that you can now hear the inconsistencies in an episode, I actually didn't notice the audience until well into the first scene and the amount of laughter varied greatly throughout.

I haven't watched this yet but Amanda Holden is lovelym so very much looking forward to it.

It's worth watching her just to see if her face moves.

I thought this was fantastic. Excellent dialogue and characters. Better than the bloody Thick of It anyway.

Nah. Haven't seen it yet.

Frankly astounding that this programme was allowed to be shown on the BBC's flagship channel, in a prime time slot.

Not that prime a slot, considering it's on opposite Coronation Street. A bizarre bit of scheduling since I imagine the people who like that gentle comedy would presumably the type of people who might also like a big old fashioned sitcom?

It wasn't opposite Corrie.

No BBC scheduler would be that cruel.
