How come DaButt?

A friend called late last night and kept me on the phone until 2, then it was up at 5 to go to work for a few hours. I hope I can take a nap before Round 2 of the cooking begins.

it's being hosted by a bunch of American students on my course.

How easy is it to find a whole turkey in the UK? Our stores are overflowing with the damned things at the moment. The guy in front of me at the supermarket bought a 28-pounder!

Pretty darn easy, but only during Christmas season.

So it's probably a special order in November? Our stores have them year-round, but they have hundreds (thousands?) this time of year.

I had to go to the supermarket yesterday. Big mistake. They had employees in the busy aisles (turkeys, stuffing, pies, baking supplies, etc.) to guide hapless husbands who had been sent to pick up vital ingredients. It was an utter madhouse and I couldn't find a single pie pan anywhere. Angry

I had to laugh at the men who were buying frozen turkeys. There's no way they would thaw before morning.

I find turkey a bit dry. I much prefer chicken.

I just imagine all these hapless husbands coming back with crates of Bud' telling their wives, "But the assistant pointed me to it!" :D

I'm guessing most people here don't even like Turkey, they're just stuck with tradition.

The cat has shit on the floor
I kicked him out the door
If he doesn't stop dumping
He'll be getting a thumping
...and I'll be sending him to the RSCPCA with a cigarette burn.

Just die.

Where is Letterman these days? Used to be on ITV4 but not anymore. Has he moved channel, the cheeky little scamp?

I don't know if he's on any channel at all here now! :(
Certainly not on one I've got anyway.

Is anti-Islam sentiment really that strong over there?

Is anti-Islam sentiment really that strong over there?

It's strong everywhere since 9/11, 7/7 and Cat Stevens latest album.

I love turkey sandwiches.

Turkey is religiously diverse I think.

That's the best part of Thanksgiving.

Providing you're a Muslim. ;)

Turkey Curry is awesome.

Turkey is religiously diverse I think.

Not at all, it's 98% Muslim. The country is secular, but cracks are beginning to appear and the country is slipping a little closer to hard-line Islam. Sad.
