Cookie is a type of biscuit of here.

You can't have it both ways, bastards!

Lorry or truck
Boot or trunk
Chips or fries
Biscuit or cookie

Woooah? No Backups?

Computer repair shops are quite likely to wipe the hard disk back to factory state.

Ruby Wax once lost ALL her work that way.

No, I have nearly everything on an external hardrive too. I just can't be bothered to run it with the crap laptop I'm using at the moment, because it doesn;t have Word, etc. :)

Quote: AndreaLynne @ November 25 2009, 12:23 AM GMT

I would be leaving the house at 3:30 am and not get home til 2 in the afternoon. A good opportunity, but not worth it if it short changes my kids. :)

Aw, that's a shame. You have my sympathies Andie; there's so many opportunities I've had to turn down or not even try for because of childcare issues.

The portmanteau term is a 'Craptop'.

Further to Lee's remark:
Fries are a type of chip here.
Trucks are lorries.
Trunks are male swimming cossies.

Chip, Chip, Hurray, Chip's here!

Hi Chip! Wave

I am going to the University of someplace today to try and get interns for the company. Fun times. I've made sure I've dressed all "hip and cool" to attract the kids.

We're saved!

I'm going to see The Specials again tonight, which I'm looking forward to, but I'm worried it's not going to be as good as the last time I saw them play earlier this year.

For one Mr Dagger ended up in a wheelchair for 2 months after the last gig he went to and so I've got to keep him away from the mosh pit and I can no longer wear contact lenses, so I've either got to look like a tit in my specs and risk getting them broken or just not be able to see the stage very well.

Didn't they all go mad and hate each other now?

Jerry Dammers isn't with them anymore. :(

You should clearly just come to King's. :P

They offered me the job!!!!!! :D

Goooo Andie! :D I'm so glad you went for it and got it, even if it proved impractical in the end. I know that if this happened to me, at least, it'd give me the confidence to try for other things like it that would be better accomodating. Hug

A Samsung nc10...I think...

A pretty good choice. How's it going a few days on? Keyboard alright?

It's all fine and dandy! It's just annoying that my parents insist I still use my laptop too, and so I keep having to get used to a new keyboard between home and uni. But it's all gooood!

Robyn is singing very badly. Next door can probably hear and are probably not appreciating it. Oh well.

To be put on trial as a Nazi?

*snigger*

She is a proper blonde-haired, blue-eyed Aryan. The Führer would approve...

It's annoying with the screen being small, too. It'll be okay with word documents, but I'm using it for MSN and internet browsing right now to get used to it.

Did you go and check them out in PC World (or similar) first?

Ah yes, the old 'my laptop is at the menders' routine. I'll take a look at your 'new' sketches in due course.

And why do you keep spelling challenge as 'challange'?

Wow, aggressive.

Have you seen Take That yet? Or my uncle John?

They are the only two good things about Manchester.

And the Victorian architecture.

Quote: Tim Walker @ November 24 2009, 7:32 PM GMT

Were they the ones that went on to be The Backstreet Boys or something?

Laughing out loud

Can anyone recommend a decent mousetrap? That's the second one I have had to finish off with a clawhammer.

They shouldn't do so without informing the customer first.

Fortunately all the original material was still on Joan River's hard drive.

That's doing Rivers a disservice.

(Rivers'* (I think.))

Is sad to hear Brendan was kicked out of Pappy's Fun Club for 'business reasons'. Harsh!

That means he done things with childrens. Innit.

Quote: Sammy @ November 24 2009, 11:29 PM GMT

Even though the stuff they did on TV was pretty horrible

You shouldn't be so flattering.

Remind me not to come to status report for comfort next time my favourite sketch band breaks up

We're not here to comfort! We're here to be ruthless, heartless bastards.

Cool

Quote: DaButt @ November 25 2009, 1:15 AM GMT

Shouldn't Aaron have some sort of automatic 'biscuit' for 'cookie' substitution in place?

'Cookie' is a perfectly legitimate word. You just use it incorrectly.

Surely an easier method is just to have your baps on show?

Of course not, Jewboy!

Phew. Thread caught-up.
