Hate him? Oh it's more than hate. I despise the fat b**t*rd.

He even took credit for that Amarillo song it was Tony Christie feat Peter Kay and all he did was a f**king stupid walk in a crappy video. Takes all the credit and expects people to lick his fat arse for nothing. He needs a Dalek setting on him.

Pity they don't have an award for c**t of the year, give it to him and change the spelling to K**t with a capital K!

I'm thrilled when someone comes up from nothing and makes good instead of some effin ponsy southerner from an upmarket family that's rich and spoiled and he/she knows a producer's, nephew's, auntie's, cousin's, brother's, mother's, sister's director's friend. [cos that's what it's usually about folks, not what you know, who you know....trust me]
Good on Peter kay for making it on talent rather than contacts

Yes but he's so bloody smug about it. There's really no need for him to show off and prat about like an arse.

Easy tiger, he didn't take credit for the song if anything is gave Tony Cristies career a major boost (for about 15 minutes).

Laughing out loud

Why did Terry Wogan call Kay a "genius" on Friday night?

This is a genuine question. The only thing of his I've ever seen was the video when he mimed to that Amarillo song.

Peter Kay is great. Apart from anything else, he's written a truly great sitcom, Phoenix Nights, which has earned him his place in the comedy history books.

No he didn't write Pheonix nights, he contributed a few lines here and there from what I've read and heard he wrote very little compared to the other writers.

I'm agreeing with the Griffmeister on this one and he wrote the very underrated Max and Paddy which had some brilliant comic moments and his portrayal of the Ice Cream Man in That Peter Kay Thing was also top notch.

I like him, I think he has real comic talent and great charisma on stage. As for his smugness - I don't think Michael McIntyre, Chris Moyles or Johnny Ross will lose any sleep.

Yes. It is an awesome sitcom. Though he co-wrote it, rather than wrote it. Yes, I'm being a picky tit.

Do you mean McIntyre by any chance????

And really that record and video were a total waste of time.

Wasn't it weird the way 4 celebs with the name Kay, all got famous around the same time, back in the mid-'90s? There was Peter, Vernon, Paul, and that manic Scottish stand-up with the long hair and beard, Phil Kay.

Oh yeah, so that makes 5, who all found fame around the same time.

Phil Kay. Yeah, he was mental. And a bit shit.

OK then.

He is a bit Special though.
