Michael McIntyre Tour Page 5

:D Well, quite.

Filthy scum spammer!!

Ooops - wrong thread.

Laughing out loud

I think the comparison to Seinfeld was fair. He does the same sort of thing, has the same shiny teeth, and the material is no different to that of 25 years ago.

I can understand why people like him, he does seem to have a phenomenal stage presence, and extraordinary self-confidence. Is there a new super-strength strain of cocaine around which I've not heard of?

Yes, it's called Coke Zero (Nerves).

Have you ever noticed how there's Coke Zero, hmm, and Pepsi Max; Zero, Max, Zero, Max, yet my material is completely Middle of the (comedy) road?

(Why are people up at this unholy hour of the middle of the week?)

What's wrong with Victoria Wood?

That said Micheal Macintyre is the comedic equivalent of mistaking industrial sandpaper for bog roll.

Only one week till I see him :D

Stick at three !

With vigour.

Sorry, but I like Michael, always have.

It helps that I've been a fan of his for several years now. Started following his act about 4 years ago, way before he reached the critical success that he has now. Of course, back then, he had a much smaller fan base and performed slightly better observational comedy, but now he's extremely popular I've noticed that his success has started to tarnish his output and people are jumping on the "all he does is make obvious statements" bandwagon. Always the case unfortunately - you follow an act because you think they're good and then they reach big status. They change their material to suit their new found glory and sometimes this causes it to decline (The Mighty Boosh and Lee Evans come to mind here). Bloody annoying really. It's the same with the music industry though; I've heard people claim that they no longer like a certain artist because "they've become too mainstream". It's a load of old nonsense really, but you can't help but think that they've got a point.

McIntyre is still pretty good though Whistling nnocently

Eh?

I just can't stand his smug face.

I could understand if you were following some crazy, controversial, left field comedian and then he hit the main stream - but McIntrye is about as anarchic as a gas bill.

As for accusations that his mateial is weak, it is, it's piss poor.
