Ooh! Drama series set in a busy Midlands practice following the turbulent lives and loves of the staff and patients. It's only a matter of time till this is snapped up by one of the Australian networks - perhaps it will replace Oprah when she retires in 2011.

Haven't they already done it? Only they added planes and called it Flying Doctors?
How long has Doctors been around for? The Flying Doctors started in the mid-80s.
It started in 2000 Kenneth when it was nominated for a BAFTA for most original new programme.

Oprah retires in 2011, world ends in 2012 - is it a coincidence though?

My God, was it?
I shall be watching, Mr Peirson.
I thought you were a regular writer on it? Is this a special episode or sommink? Hmmm, mmmm?

It was the episdoe shown was Home to Roost written by ... ahem. It lost out to Big Borther can you believe which was a copied format.
The originality in Doctors lay in the fact that every epsidoe back then was self contained. Even the serial was arced in every episode with a stand alone story of the day or two as well. It was very much seen as the best take on A Play for Today at the time, and there was nothing like it on British daytime televison, then or since.
My Mum used to really love watching Doctors, but then it started to clash with Neighbours. A choice had to be made and... I can't say it, Marc, I really can't...

Buy her a Sky+ then. I am a big fan of Neighbours but I tape the evening edition.
No, not Sky+ just to record Neighbours. That's outrageous! Buy two Sky+!
Not, in fact buy Freeview+ with dual tuners.

Oh, she's got the Virgin equivalent (a hymen plus...?), but she says she hasn't seen it for so long that she'd find it hard to catch up with. I said, well Marc says as it deals with self-contained stories over-and-above the overall character story arcs, it should be easy for you to get back on with. She said, well, maybe I'll see. I said, well why not at least watch today's one? She said, I'll see...

Well you can lead a horse to water Tim
I try. At the moment I'm weaning her off her addiction to endless repeat viewings of Emma. If she doesn't see Jonny Lee Miller with a hairpiece at least once a day she starts to twitch.

Enjoyed that (the episode). Although it did seem to be about the police, which is more my cup of tea, to be honest. Have you ever thought about writing about a cop Marc? O, wait a minute...
Don't think I spotted your joke though. Unless it was the one where a giant woman marries a short bald guy.
