I honestly can't remember this poster. Did they have any quirks, favourite topics, etc?

She was just incredibly nasty and charmless, with no redeeming features. Yet...she was passionate about comedy and knew her onions.

Hmmmmm. Whistling nnocently

What ever happened to Sootyj he was ace. As kind as he was clever and more sharp witted than a fox with a razor blade.

I disliked him when he started writing proper, with grammar and everything. It seemed like Sootyj had sold his soul to Lynne Truss. :(

Yes and when he stopped making jokes about paedophile kangaroos, I knew he had sold out.

Didn't he mention something about going off to be DaveyC's bitch maid?

The sender of the letter says the relationship between Lee and the letter's recipient is mentioned in Lee's blogs and I'm quite happy to believe that's where details of the recipient's name and/or company were found.

I think he also said that he'd mentioned it in a couple of posts here. You'd have to be pretty deranged to go hunting it out on another site.

If the blog has always been password-protected and there is a list of people who have access, it shouldn't be difficult to come up with a few possible culprits.

The blog was publicly accessible until now.

If the motive is to do with wrecking a potential romance, perhaps Lee should ask the letter's recipient if she's mentioned her meetings with Lee to any potential suitors recently?

Ah, but the only potential romance has clearly been in the head of the mentally unstable person who sent the letters! They're both happily married and have a friendly working relationship. If that equates to a "potential romance" then perhaps it would be better if every workplace in the country adopted gender-apartheid.

One thing's for sure - wherever there's ill-feeling, jealousy is at the root of it in most cases.

Or a total detachment from reality, as is clearly the case here. If the letter-sender is "jealous" he should have his balls (or her ... lips) chopped off for entertaining the notion of an affair with a married woman.

Besides, how do you know that the person isn't interested in Lee, eh eh eh? The dirty possible queer.

Lee - a possible queer? Yes - but not dirty!

I heard he was planning on moving to Hull.

But he can't stand queers, Jews and wankers.

Hull was full of all 3.

Poor guy.

Lee has taken this way to seriously. I don't know him personally, but would say it was either:

a) Attention seeking.
b) A long-game prank.

Lee has taken this way to seriously.

I think his decision to withdraw from Internet life is an over-reaction but I can fully understand his shock and his dismay following this event.

He's had a few successes in the writing business and he's made useful contacts. That means he's currently existing on the verge of 'bigger things' and for someone to send such a letter was a spiteful and potentially highly-damaging act.

The person who sent it isn't a joker, an attention-seeker or a nutter.

He or she is just bloody dangerous. Cool

No, I meant Lee was either an attention seeker or playing a prank on the people here.
