No, I haven't, but I might consider it.

You've had Thai-brides, and Russian Brides! Now why not try Desperate Housewives of the U.S and A?!
Coming soon: to your pants.

Loved Soap and it was very groundbreaking for it's time - but probably quite tame now.
It certainly was. An openly gay character, cheating, mafia ties, all very controversial at the time over here.

And a sex-change!
Was there? I had to watch this show on the sly as a kid, even though my dad was laughing like a buffoon in the next room over. I don't remember that.
*adds Soap to increasingly long list of things to watch during recoop period after surgery*

Will we ever find out why Steve was phoning Iain Lee?
Consider the cat being away whilst the mouse plays and you may have your answer.
Was it Jodie who was the gay bloke? He went on to have a sex-change - or planned to.

Could be...I keep bouncing back and forth between here and Amazon to see how much the complete run will set me back...

I loved it when I was younger I was about 7 or 8 when it aired here
Not sure how funny I'd find it now
but having said that at the time I didn't realise/understand that it was a parody of Soap operas and their ridiculous storylines so looking back it was quite clever
Soap was one of those odd ones I liked and disliked (not quite loved and hated) as I found it funny and admired what it was doing, but also found it incredibly taxing to watch, I think because it was so flipping loud, in every sense. Possibly the most blatant (unsubtle) sitcom I've watched, after Police Squad. It's an inherently American condition which just jars with my taste in British sitcom, as good that they were in their own TV output.
Flipping through channels I came across what looked like Rosanne, but wasn't and couldn't believe the canned laughter - virtually every line this man and woman said to each other was greeted with howls of laughter, and very quickly got on yer tits.
Just don't understand why they do it.
