Trying to remember a sitcom

I vaguely remember a sit com from the nineties, with two women sharing a flat. The main thing I remember about it was that the theme tune was Sparky's Dream by Teenage Fanclub, and I think it was on Channel 4 on a Friday.

Does anybody have a clue what I'm talking about?

Oh, and hello.

Hi Mark, welcome to the site! First off, thanks. I love these threads. Most of the reason I created the board. :)

But in answer, I'm afraid that I don't have the foggiest. A quick Google has found references to it elsewhere so you're not imagining it, but no idea! Can you give any more information? Year? Stars? Any other storylines or themes?

Two woman sharing a flat? The only thing I can think of is Man About the House, lol.

I have obsessively watched Friday Night over the years, but can't remember anything like this?

Kate & Allie?

It was definately a British show, I think one of the women was blond and the other a brunette, but aprt from that it was nothing like Kate and Allie. Thinking more about it they may not have lived together, one of them might have had a boyfriend. If I really tried I could be more vague, but not very!

As far as years, probably around 95, as I think it was the same time as Game On, and had a lot of similarities (young people, indie theme tune)

Was it Dressing For Breakfast?

I can't imagine that had an indie theme tune though.

Life After Birth

No zooo, I recently 'got' Dressing For Breakfast, and the theme is all kind of jazz-trumpet-y.

Not sure about this Life After Birth though, but "Its trendy, archly contemporary, urban credit sequence - complete with fuzzy titles - bellied the old-fashioned nature of the piece..."

Babes in the Wood?

That was my next guess. It was ITV though, and I'd guess that 1998 is a bit late. Although Game On did carry on until 1998, so entirely possible.

Whatever it is, I definitely remember that song being a TV theme.

First prize to JohnnyD, definitely Life After Birth( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116876 ).

Not that I remember it another one to add to the one to watch list.

Fantastic.

Strangely, I didn't remember there being a baby involved at all, and it was clearly a major part of the plot!

Now I just need to find some where to watch it, and discover that it was probably nowhere near as good as I remember :)

Aaron what going on when I wrote first prize it come out with an S instead of a Z it making out I can’t spell (which I can’t)?

See it’s done it again, it’s OK in the Edit

You've discovered a little bug in our American filter (we've set it to turn all their 'z' into 's') - it's the capital letter at the start of the word that's doing that.

We'll get the bug fixed in the new forum... in the meantime using a lower case P (which I've edited your post to) solves that problem.
