:(

Aww, that's really sad.

BBC NEWS:

"Woodward is most famous for his roles in cult 1973 horror film The Wicker Man, alongside Christopher Lee, and US TV series The Equalizer."

No mention of 'Callan', his springboard to TV fame:

Wiki:

"In 1967 he was cast as David Callan in the ITV Armchair Theatre play A Magnum for Schneider, which later became 1960s spy series Callan, his first television role, and one in which he demonstrated his ability to express controlled rage. His iconic performance assured the series success from 1967 to 1972, with a film appearing in 1974."

Callan was very ahead of its time.

It is a sad day for British film and television. R.I.P.

If I am not mistaken his final role was in EastEnders a few months ago.

It didn't mention Hot Fuzz either; which of course had Wicker Man references.

'...Edward never had a bad word to say about anyone.'

He wouldn't have fitted in here, then.

'...Edward never had a bad word to say about anyone.'

He would just sing Abide With Me.

Maybe we should try that here.

Or Psalm 23.

I like Psalm 23.

He was good in that programme about the bin men.
