Or on the other hand, if you're me it was one of the most boring and depressing 'sitcoms' EVER.

Rossiter or Forsyth version?

The Forsyth version; I didn't ever catch Tripper's Day with Rossiter.

D'oh! My memory's going.

We WILL beat the Blackadderers!
Beat in a "Who's the biggest mentalist?" contest, yes!

We'll take what we can get!
Don't you like either though?
I hated Tripper's Day. Rossiter was way too good for it, it was like Einstein joining the local pub quiz team or Hitler joining the BNP. However, the Forsyth version was mediocre, as the role suited the more silly comedian instead of the clever one like Rossiter. But that aside, Rossiter and Forsyth are comedy legends.

Blackadder is fabulous. Red Dwarf is underwhelming.

Was that from the 60s? I thought it was much more recent than that.
Quote: Griff @ November 14 2009, 2:29 PM GMTAlf Garnett appeared in 1965 and continued in various guises until 1992.
Flipping heck! Surely the longest running sitcom ever then?
Quote: Griff @ November 14 2009, 2:57 PM GMTI think that prize goes to Last Of The Summer Wine - Aaron will correct me if I'm wrong?
Aaron knows nothing. He gets all his info by PMing Ian Wolf!
