Waiting for a response

I'm currently waiting to see what a production company think of my ickle sitcom.

I was just wondering what other peoples experiences have been. What were the longest / shortest response time you've got. How about the shortest or even longest letter. Anyone been rejected in a weird way? Share your favorite rejections or even successes.

It's the worst feeling in the world.

6 months is a normal wait, but it's been a lot less a few times.

One fella at the BBC got back to me the next day.

I get very pent up, waiting. It's like a really exaggerated 'waiting for the bill in a restaurant' type of wait.

Agreed. Except the waiter doesn't come up and kick you in the bollocks as he hands you the bill.

-Due to our overwhelming response~
-The calibe of entries were in fact very high~
-Although we read your contribution with interest~
-On this occassion we have decided not to follow up your application~
-We will however keep your details on record~

etc~

I'm still waiting after a year for a reply from Ten In A Bed company

I'm still waiting after a year for a reply from Ten In A Bed company

They are obviously considering it very carefully

I wonder if bushbaby ever heard from them...

Anyway I'm resurecting this topic because I've been waiting for a couple of months and want to know if there's a polite way I can ask if they've got round to it yet?

How about:

Dear Sirs,
Why delay the inevitable? You're going to love it.
Get my script out of that slush pile now.
What the hell was it doing there with all the Office or Gavin And Stacy copycat shite anyway?
My script is the best thing since sliced bread.
You know that, I know that.
Get off your fat arse and read it.
I can't wait all day.

In the read world, Rob B, expect a wait.

How long is a piece of string?

I'm happy to wait as long as possible; it's nice to dream.

Yes, but when I dream they're all about waiting as long as possible for some reply. :O

Over a year, in relation to one prodco.I always have the sneaking suspicion that my script is being read(especially at the BBC)by someone who has a degree in theology from Oxford University.

The longest is 6 months and counting, the shortest is one day.

I remember getting back a reply that was so long in coming back I'd completely forgotten that I'd sent it to the agency in the first place.

I think it would be okay to politely nudge them for a response after this period of time.

If you still get no reply I'm afraid you've fallen victim to the 'silent pass'-all too common in this industry unfortunately :(
