I know what you are saying about predictability being done well, maybe a surprise along the way etc, but it was obvious that she would be spotted by the guy and she was. There wasn't much of a pay-off for me.

Maybe I just enjoy being proven right. ;)

* "I produced Spaced" does. Writers tend to be a little more open, but still many sway towards the edgey, if only because it's easier.

There's nothing 'easy' about writing a show like Spaced. I wouldn't even say it was edgey. At all. It's not Open All Hours, but it's hardly Nighty Night either!
I hope Miranda keeps up the standard it set for itself with this first episode.

Yes, dear.

It don't think it's being "edgy" that's so much the issue for writers. Writing funny is difficult, writing unfunny is easy. Edgy is definitely an adjective you'll hear used more often by critics, producers and press officers, than writers.

Well you know what I mean, regardless of the term used to describe it. :)

Nonesense! There's two more letters in the second one.

*proves Tim right in his original point*

I didn't say that it was edgey. Just implied (and meant) that it would be seen as a cooler and more respectable thing to have been involved in. Anyway, no matter the examples used or the terminology employed, the point stands.

Yep, I do. :)

Well, yes, it is. Because it's a great, great show. :)

I wonder if the BBC have already ordered a second series, it's not rocket science to work out how popular it is so far.

Laughing out loud that could be it!

Two Things

1) Good show - silly and lots of laughs

2) I miss Jim "I made partner at 35" Field, plenty of laughs there!

Fortunately this is repeated on Sunday at 10pm on BBC2, for any daft spunkers like me who happened to miss the thing.

spunkers

You've just got to lower the tone with your base language. Think of Poor Alfred J. Kipper having to read your dirty words! Angry

(FWIW, Miranda would be better off repeated on Sunday on BBC1 at teatime).
