Old fashioned

This really does seem to be your highest term of abuse.

Old fashioned, confused, not funny, playing to the morons, just awful.

So, we've established that you're not in the target audience.

I dunno Aaron.

This was garbage.

Miranda Hart is just dire. She is the type of person I would cross the road to avoid.

Old fashioned, confused, not funny, playing to the morons, just awful.

Well at least you went to it with an open mind and gave it a fair chance...

:)

I did. Unfortunately, it was everything I expected it to be.

Garbage.

I thought this was quite an endearing and enjoyable show, I will be happy to spend time watching Miranda again. I didn't, as I say 'LOL' but I did smile throughout. That said I can understand why some people didn't like it, parts of it were old fashioned and didn't make much sense. I guess if you didn't like Miranda Hart in other shows you definitely won't like this, personally I loved her in NGO and think she is fun in this to.

I liked it, you would only ever see this show on the BBC. Which for me is a reason to keep paying the license fee. 6/7-10.

I thought the mother was brilliant.

I thought it but you said it!

What a big, fun show. Trod the fairly fine line between stupid and funny, but did it very well, I thought. Yes, some objectively fairly flimsy jokes, but lots of really nice ones and some lovely little asides. Breaking the "4th wall" was justified and really worked well in this case, as Miranda Hart has both the talent and charm to pull it off. I haven't listened to the Radio 4 sitcom from which it was developed and ended-up feeling that I wish perhaps I had. Yes, it was occasionally a little twee and whimsical, but it was first and foremost fun, cuddly and warm. It had its tongue firmly in its cheek, but in the best way.

Although Miranda Hart (predictably) steals the show, the whole cast are great. It looked like they probably had a lot of fun making this. First We Are Klang on BBC Three and now Miranda on BBC Two. Perhaps there is room for some harmless and cheerful silliness in comedy again?

It vaguely reminded me of It's Garry Shandling's Show, which is definitely meant as a compliment. This kind of show, if it really finds its feet after a strong opening, could nicely translate to a BBC One audience. Was a little unsure (in view of the chocolate penis/sex toy gags) whether it was suitable as pre-watershed, but as the humour was so harmless and relatively gentle perhaps that's just me being over-cautious?

Favourite line: "I'm pretty sure that's racist."

Looking forward to seeing more. :)

I really liked it, Miranda Hart was very good as were the rest of the cast and it does feel old fashioned in places but it works. Some of the humour was a little risqué for its timeslot but still funny. The bits were Miranda broke the fourth wall worked well although I assume that was taken from the original radio series. Did think the 'Miranda looks like a man' gags wore a bit thin but only a minor criticism.

Best line for me was "I do have a penis but that's chocolate".

I don't want to sound harsh but are you sure you got it? I do think there is a tendancy for this type of comedy and the art of writing it to be dismissed too easily.

Ronnie what is there for me to get? It is nonsense for the dullards.

Just because you don't like something doesn't imply that you don't fit the demographic they're aiming at, Aaron.

As I said:

And you do realise you're calling almost everyone here a dullard and a moron?
Strange thing to do.
