Yes it is. It's full of graphic descriptions of sexual congress designed to excite, tittilate and arouse the reader.
Porn!
(You have fallen nicely into my trap Dolly - mwah, hah, hah.)
Quote: Leevil @ November 9 2009, 7:11 PM GMTNo, it's filth!
Leevil, you always get me laughing.

In a glass or a black stiletto?
All this porn chat is going to make me want to get out my tape player and route out my collection, which consisted of a german man who has a moustache bigger than his cock and various lucky ladies with more hair down there than I have on my head.

They told me there was no tape in that sodding camera.

They also told you it was a woman...

That wasn't DH Lawrence's intention. What you did with it when you were a school boy is your business.
The ironic thing is I'm probably the least prudish person here commenting on this subject!
*Scotti roots for Star Whores episode 69*
C3PO and the little ugly thing go at it like lions...all that metal clanging.

As in porn watching, or in real life...?
Porn can (and often does) unhealthily distort perceptions (among both sexes) of how women should look and behave. Intellectually I disapprove of it, unfortunately it is not my intellect that it appeals to. All this stuff about it being healthy is just bollocks, like people pretending they drink red wine because it is good for the heart. You enjoy yourself, and then you feel a bit shitty afterwards.
But where the logic of this argument has broken down, is in the assertion that because men use porn, all men must long to be with women who look and behave like porn stars. Of course, if specifying, in the abstract, their ideal woman, most men would have "looks and behaves like a porn star" on the tick list, but you can't have everything, and, to all but the shallowest most insecure arseholes, there is a lot else on the list that takes priority. Of course it helps if there is some instant attraction, in which looks inevitably play a part (and that is true for both sexes) but men can have some quite quirky tastes (and porn these days might even be helping with that...) In any case, if I spend time with a woman and I enjoy a her company, I will begin to find her physically more attractive; and if I dislike her, no matter how attractive I found her on first acquaintance, I will begin to dwell on the imperfections, until she begins to seem to me quite repulsive.

Spookily, Giles Brandreth is talking about Lawrence's most infamous book on the One Show right now.
Hmmm, it was at the centre of an obscenity trial - if that's not porn, then I don't know what is.
Plus the film versions are full of nudity and shagging - which is odd if that's not the intention of the book.

That is true, I find Katie Price, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and those lot repulsive, and am not attracted to them in the slightest. They are awful grotesque people.

It's Debbie Does Dallas tomorrow.
It's interesting how nobody has accused porn of giving male consumers unrealistic expectations about themselves.
I don't have a six-pack. My cock isn't as big as most male porn stars'. I don't produce anyway near as much ejactulate as they do.
Do I give a shit? No.

Great book. The film was pure titillation though.
