Is anyone else going to watch this?
No. It looks to be in the most vile, poor taste imaginable. Shameless oportunism. In any case, there are many more worthy, solid targets than Gary Glitter.
Quote: Tim Walker @ November 9 2009, 12:19 PM GMT...this programme sound both pointless and sensationalist. The preview reviews I've read so far do rather make it sound like a piece of worthless titillation dressed-up as a "thought-provoking" drama-doc.
What's next? The "imagined" imprisonment, rape and torture of John Leslie by a gang of non-existent Ultra-Feminists?
Exactly.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ November 9 2009, 12:21 PM GMTFrom the trailers it looks like it's him.
It's a good likeness, but definitely not him.
Quote: Marc P @ November 9 2009, 12:24 PM GMTThe Sun and Sky News seem to be having a pop at Gordon Brown today saying he didnt bow his head enough at the cenotaph. I wonder why they are doing that?
Because he's a shameless c**t?
Quote: Tim Walker @ November 9 2009, 12:26 PM GMTOne of the papers (guess who?) is also having a go at him for his "scrawled" letters to relatives of dead servicemen. Got to give the guy a break on this one, he's half-blind for God's sake!
Bad hand-writing is one thing, but the spelling is just atrocious.

Arise, Lord Aaron of Websfordshire, new governmental minister for spelling and grammar.
I like that title! I shall use it. Ace.
But seriously; he got not only the surname of the woman he was writing to wrong, but also the name of the poor guy who'd been killed and was the subject of the letter. Just the most f**king basic thing. Total lack of respect or decency on his part. We all know that he writes the bloody things begrudgingly, as a political exercise.
This has got Garry Bushell in it, not doubt saying what his opinions are, and that. Worth watching just for that!

He did at least write it rather than get an assistant to compose and type it and sign it on his behalf. I'm personally not bothered if someone spells my name wrong, unless it's my parents.
Quote: Griff @ November 9 2009, 1:03 PM GMTDear Dead Whoever,
I am terribly sorry you got your arm/head/leg/bollocks blown off.
On the plus side, you did save me a few quid on helicopters.
Yours,
Gordon

You'd feel differently if it was a letter expressing regret of your child's death, from the person responsible.

Yup. Sounds interesting. I like speculative fiction. There's every chance it will be garbage, but you don't know until you watch.

I urge no-one who has never seen Hollyoaks to approach it with Kevin's optimistic outlook on life ringing in their ears.

Never watched that. Unlike Gary, I prefer my spank material legal.

Made me laugh.
The Glitter show which I will be watching depresses the hell out of me. There are plenty of war criminals etc which could be features, or just plain murderers.
The choice of Garry Shitter implies a slightly obsessive attitude to paedophilia.
Tried to watch some of this but it's so hamfistedly done, that I'm gonna switch over and watch a repeat of Spaced.
The guy playing Paul Gadd looks remarkabley like Ming the Merciless, which is cool.
On a side note, I hate the way the arrival of Christmas is getting earlier and earlier - I mean Channel Four are hanging Glitter at the beginning of November.
I thang yew.
