The death, dying and dead thread Page 5

I was tear-gassed once and had no idea what it was, so assumed I was dying. It was most unpleasant.

"I hope the cryogenics guys get to me in time."

"What do you mean you left your watch in there?"

I was told by a gypsy once that I will die on a motorbike

But that wasn't a fortune teller was it? It was the traveller in his Range Rover you cut up on your Suzuki.

Have you avoided motorbikes since?

A colleague told me today about a funeral he'd attended where the pallbearers lifted up the coffin following the church service only to leave the body behind. The wife of the deceased was screaming and he described the scene as 'hysterical'.

I'm not sure which part of that story is the most disturbing - the coffin part or the person thinking it was funny.

That is rather hilarious, to be fair.

I was told by a gypsy once that I will die on a motorbike so I imagine my last thought would be 'who would have guessed the gypsy was right?'

Then again, if you don't die on a motorbike - but in a plane crash, or by drowning in a vat of paint stripper - your last thought will be one of smug satisfaction in the knowledge that the gypsy was wrong. :)

I've always been curious as to what you'll think at the moment of death. Will it be, "Wow! I'm about to die! Cool! This is life's last big adventure!" :) Or will you think, "Oh f**k, I'm about to die. I've wasted my life contributing to lame comedy forums." :(

So Long, and thanks for all the fish.

"Shit, I think I left the oven on"

It's not PC to call them Gypsies.

Travelling people or Tinkers, please.

What about "dirty wet mattress dumpers"?

I updated a Death and Dying course recently and was laughing all afternoon that in the section on how to deal with different religions and cultures - it said that gyspies didn't like to be called Tinkers and they like to eat off brightly coloured plates!

Unless, during the impact, a stowed motorcycle bursts through the cabin floor and pushes his lower jaw through the back of his head.

I think they prefer "Didicoy".

In that case let's just call them gypsies then.

Makes me think I should make that big decision now rather than piss about.
