Sometimes you need Quicktime and Real for streaming files on the web though, so you have to have them just for those occasions. RM are the biggest twats for inventing their own format.

QuickTime, meh, possible you might need that for in-page media I guess. I never do though. Real Media formats work just fine in VLC. No need for their proprietary bloatware.

Who uses Realmedia any more?

Sadly, some BBC things are still in RM. The vast majority available in Windows Media formats too, but there's the occasional thing still only available with evil.

I'd even rather use Windows Media than Real Media and I use a Mac.
I don't understand why everyone doesn't use Quicktime though.
Or if it's high quality you want then DIVX.
Ok ok! Now I'm off to work!

Halfway through organising my daughter's Birthday party and she's now decided she wants it to be a Victorian party, with her in a Queen Victoria-in-mourning outfit and "teapots and things".

:) and it's a bastard going over that bridge (I take it you go that way?).

My car and I were almost demolished by large farm machinery today. Luckily, I am a very good driver and know how to bob and weave with a car.
