TUTOR RAGE Page 2

I'm sure people prefer "Sorry, but it didn't make me laugh. Probably just me" to "Nope". But I still think it's useful feedback to know somebody wasn't amused.
When an audience sits stoney-faced through all your gags, they are effectively saying "Nope". And they don't have to elaborate as to why they didn't laugh.

Quiet agree however, this isn't a stage \ set with an audiance and surely we ARE here to help each other.

People, calm down. If someone makes an unhelpful comment, there's no need to start bitching about it. Just ignore them and feel superior that you were able to develop a reasoned review.

And let that be the end of the matter.

:O The Gabble!

BURN THE WITCH, BURN THE WITCH, BURN THE WITCH!

You writers who want to argue with people who don't laugh at your stuff - what career do you see yourself having in television? You can't barrack the audience if they don't laugh at your jokes. I thought this sketch was pisspoor. I didn't laugh at it and pretend I didn't. 'Nope' is short and sweet. What more is there to say? The sketch can't be improved without being another sketch, because there is only one joke - that of the unexpected outcome. For this to work, as someone mentioned there has to be more of a build up. This is in turn would make the tutor's actions cruel, so the sketch doesn't work. Start again.

You might begin by looking at some of the work I've praised on here – there's quite a lot of it.

Please read the replies as well as you apparently read the original sketch, I have no problem with people not finding my stuff funny, hell there are sketches on here that have left me cold (and that includes one's you like.. and others you haven't (incredible I know)) we are all learning here I'm not arguing against the fact people don't like my sketch.

The problem is we are all budding writers looking for help, 'Nope' isn't helpful and it seems, we have to go on to get anything constructive out of you. So in future I guess the moto is not to bother with you and move on.

Amen.

One for all and all for one! Just like the Three Musketeers - you junkmales sure are a team!

I suspect you and Kent Pete may be a bit of a team too, eh? ;)

This is no longer artistic disagreement, it's out and out war. If a comment irritates you then it's best to disregard it. If you're right then just sit back and feel the moral superiority flowing through you.

That'd be great wouldn't it!

When Larry David decided that his audience weren't appreciative enough he threw down the microphone and left.

i love the story of larry david walking on stage, looking at the audience from left to right, shaking his head, saying nah - and walking straight back off.

I hate to do it, but I must - LoL
