Let's All Mock The Hippy Page 3

I don't know if it's the same all over the country, but in my town you can get fined £180 if you forget it's a bank holiday and put your bins out on the street anyway.

I know this because people are "named and shamed" in the local rag.

Why not assume everyone is going to get the bins wrong and fine everybody?

Are you suggesting that car insurance should be optional and that careful drivers never have crashes?

Every single person I know who has had to claim from their car insurance has been treated like scum. The insurance companies do everything they can not to pay out and then when they finally do decide to cough up, it takes over a year to get the money and it's never the amount required.

Then, because the insurance company actually did it's job of paying up, it increases everyone's payments across the board, because God forbid these theives should dig into their own pockets to provide the service advertised.

It's a f**king con and worst of all, the Government is complicit.

That's pretty much how healthcare works in the US. Doesn't it make you glad to be British?

Exactly.

Well no, quite frankly. I'm one of these people who is bizarrely healthy despite my self destructive lifestyle and even though I am *cough* years old, I have never spent a single night in hospital.

If I were to total up how much money has been taken from me either through National Insurance contributions and tax on alcohol and cigarettes and compare it to how much has been actually spent on my medical treatment for the last 20 years - the balance would shock you.

If, as can be argued, that I'm paying this money towards a future need which may arise as I get older, why am I not receiving regular financial dividends for my investment?

Oh, because the money has been spent on expensive operations for newly arrived immigrants...nice.

I don't trust hippies or crusties; they all turn out to be hypocrites in my expeience.

Does anyone remember the documentrary about the naturist hiker, who is trying to defend his right to walk across the country wearing nothing but hiking boots and a tangled beard? At one point he invited his ex to join him and his present girlfriend on the walk, which understandably upset his current girlfriend and he gave her some bollocks about free love. But in the end the ex and the girlfriend got on really well and ended up spending the night in a tent together, whilst he was left on his own! He was pissed off and didn't understand the concept of free love anymore.

And because you're also paying for all the people in low-paid jobs who you rely on every day to be kept healthy.

I know, I am a total saint. Angelic

So are you suggesting that car insurance should be optional and that careful drivers never have crashes? ANSWER THE QUESTION! *waves fist in slightly camp manner then pretends to swat a fly*

The Road Traffic Act allows an alternative to car insurance. You can make a specified deposit (£500,000 as of 1991) with the Supreme Court against third party liability.

If you were stateside, you'd be paying just as much in health insurance. Fag tax would be lower.

:D

No, make car insurance compulsory, but make it free for everyone by diverting the money derived from Road Tax into a national scheme, like the NHS for cars - so instead of Road Tax going into the treasury to pay for bollocks like the Scottish Parliament, it's spent on something transport related.

Careful drivers never crash - bad drivers crash into them. So yes, by their very description, careful drivers never crash.

Looks like Renegade Carpark will be taking this option then.
