Ask the BSG as they are smart Page 11

But how about Firefly and Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis and the other Stargate?!!!!

Firefly is good, as is the newest Stargate.

They all just blur into one for me.

I <3 Sci Fi
Buffy and Charm are neither.

Firefly yes.

All the other stuff no. But she could be at risk from Sootyj who loves sci-fi even more than he loves Critique.

And I think you missed out about 27 Stargate franchises. Stargate Starbucks whatever.

Eh? Am I being accused of being some sort of Collector type weirdo with a basement full of geeky chicks? Forced to watch endless reruns of my awful taste in scifi?

Well it ain't true. I haven't got a cellar, yet...

Or a complete collection of Jason of Star Command.

Sci-fi, fantasy, detectives, vets, they all go down the the same..

Quote from Dirty Hary 234.

Harry versus Columbo and James Herriot in Narnia.

Doll'shouse. Couldn't get beyond what a stupid idea it was based on.

Plus ELiza Dushuku like Wales or The Mona Lisa looks good but can't act.

Firefly was ok...

But back to questions.

Is pizza just an open sandwich?

Who was the UK's most evil PM?

I know women complain about football being on the telly all the time, but sheesh, it's nothing compared to the endless bombardment of bad soap operas.

The British love a good gossip. Soap operas/"continuing dramas" offer a chance for more gossip, albeit gossip from a fictional world. That's why people speculate openly about what the fictional characters will do and occasionally love the gossip so much that cannot separate the real-life actors from their fictional characters. Soaps succeed ultimately because people like to gossip. (Did I use the word "gossip" enough to make my point here?) :)

I'm so pissed off that the new Whedon show Dollhouse started on ITV4 a couple of weeks ago and I never knew.

Bugger. I knew and forgot.

Or an escape from their own humdrum reality...my mom does that.

Is pizza just an open sandwich?

Pizza is just fancy cheese-on-toast. Unimpressed

Who was the UK's most evil PM?

Too easy!

Or an escape from their own humdrum reality...my mom does that.

In certain British soaps (Eastenders notably - at least, historically) the lives portrayed are often more miserable and humdrum than those of most of the viewers. I think the British soap often prefers a kind of "well, there's always someone worse off than yourself" mentality, whereas American soaps tend to have always been more aspirational.

I mean Firefly was just "cowboys in space" and that turned out OK.

No, actually Firefly was just cowboys in space.

Sci-fi, fantasy, detectives, vets, it's all the same.

I personally would love to see a sci-fi vet detective show. :)

But how about Firefly and Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis and the other Stargate?!!!!

I don't like any of those, or Charmed. Or Star Trek.

Pretty much just Buffy and a bit of Angel.
