I am more and more starting to believe that media aimed at; women and gay men are universally bad.

We should only allow male writers, producers and directors. With attractive women being allowed poorly clothed, aesthetic roles only.

Sorry but; soap operas, non coms, rom coms, musicals, f**king Mama Mia, Ms Jocelyn.

Ladies and queers you've had your chance and failed.

Oh and Loose Women. Would only be funny if they added the word bowel.

Ditto.

Ooh, Sooty has turned into Renegade Carpark!

What a joy.

Laughing out loud

Haha.

I'm a misanthrope thank you very much. I'd have cheered the guillotining of Aristos and stabbed prodemocrats at the Peterloo massacres.

If you haven't realised I hate everything, then you know little about me.

And that is why the Malvinas will stay the Falklands!

You have never watched Estenders.

I'll be totally honest with you sootyj, I accidentally watched the beginning of an episode of EastEnders about two months ago.

It kicked off in an unbelievably exciting fashion by featuring a middle aged Asian lady making a cup of tea.

Makes 24, Lost, Dexter, etc. seem tame in comparison.

:D

It's 2009 and Phil Mitchell still doesn't look right sending a text message.

It's just a never ending cycle of depression, misery and unimaginative storylines.

Eastenders especially. That programme seriously depresses me. At least Corrie's good for a laugh sometimes.

It's a litle retarded to compare Coronation Street with this stuff!

Compare it rather to things like Days of Our Lives and Sunset Beach.
American soaps are quite terrifying, but still just as shit. Worse actually. No humour in the ones I've seen.

Although Renegade will now pipe up with his "but at least the women are 99% plastic and therefore f**kable..."

:)

Working with various mentally unwell, socially unskilled and learning disabled persons. I have watched far more soaps than I ever would wish to.

The low key tea making stuff is actually when it's good, low key light comedy can be quite fun.

It's Easties endless sub moronic sub Lockstock gangster story lines that are truly awful.

Oh and when the horrible chavvy characters f**k each other.

Tru Blood

I always laugh when I watch Tru Blood when Sooki (sic) is doing her mental telepathy bit in the bar.

All of the customers are sat there thinking 'vampire loving whore', 'she's got a great ass', 'Jesus will come back and smite these sinners', etc.

I always imagine what it would be like if Sooki read my mind whilst I'm sat the bar - 'Can Smurfs and Snorks interbreed?', 'Who would win in a fight between Reg Varney and Del Boy?' and 'Why do idiots take hours wandering aimlessly around Sainsburys doing their shopping, but when they get to the check out, they're suddenly unbelievably impatient? Surely if they were in a rush, they would have done their shopping quicker, etc.'

LOL! There's a great Buffy episode where Buffy gets mind-reading powers and she listens in on everyone, obviously Xander is just thinking about sex etc, but whenever she listens to airhead Cordelia her secret thoughts are exactly the same word-for-word as whatever just came out of her mouth.

:D
I miss Buffy.

I don't think it is retarded to make the comparison, for you yourself compared Easties and Corrie to any other dramas. I did likewise and found your dramatic fare to be wanting.

Are you suggesting that beauties such as Heather Trott and Pat Butcher are unf**kable? Whistling nnocently

I don't think I did, I just said people liked the drama in the soap, as in melodrama. (Didn't I?)

I would never do such a thing!!

I love the way you're assuming Freddie Mercury was pigshit-thick rather than wondering if maybe, just maybe, there was a good reason for using that word.

It's not easy giving the benefit of the doubt to someone who wrote "scaramouche scaramouche will you do the fandango, thunderbolt and lightning, very very frightening".

I always feel really bad for Heather. She gets a lot of stick and I get a little Roo mood over her treatment. :(

Maybe it's chubby sympathy. Once you have been a chubby, you feel for other chubbies kinda thing.

That song is pure genius.
