I do find him funny, but do agree with a lot of what Tim says -- he's too mainstream which, for me and lots of other comedy 'snobs', is not enough. Unfortunately, mainstream means more commercially-viable and hence the comedy becomes stale. At the end of the day, Stewart Lee's done very well to get a TV show given his style.
That said, don't deride the people who like Michael McIntyre. At least they're not watching soaps and reality shows -- the real reason the country's full of idiots...

Your argument is a false-positive Dan, the people who enjoy Michael McIntyre are the same people who watch soaps and reality shows.
I don't think they're idiots but I do find them to be dull, uninspiring, non-people without any kind of spark, originality or intellectual verve.

McIntyre I do honestly find funny at times, but he would annoy the f**k out of me if I had to see him in real life. How anyone can be that excited all the time I'll never know.
