I'm going as the Doctor (Tennant). I just have to pop over to the comic shop to buy a sonic screwdriver. Although I have an itching feeling that this costume will doom me to "and who are you supposed to be again?" syndrome. Doctor Who isn't very big over here. >_<

I don't celebrate Halloween and I did my best to avoid watching crap 80s cartoons. But I did used to have to babysit three young girls who insisted on watching Jem and I watched on in horror. So you are going as Pizaz.

I already look cadaverous and wear horrific clothes almost every day of the year. And I've never needed an excuse to socialize and get drunk. Plus I've lived mostly in countries that have no tradition of Halloween. I really abhor the notion of knocking on a stranger's door and bothering them (first-footing in Scotland is different). When I was last in the UK, I didn't know anyone who made a special effort to celebrate Halloween. Sure there were themed parties, and people who bitched about kids knocking on their doors and throwing eggs and toilet paper at their houses when they didn't get any sweets. But it wasn't on a big scale. What's it like theseadays? Are the supermarkets full of Halloween-themed sweets? And are parents dressing their kids in store-bought costumes and sending them out trick or treating?
