You've been watching Antiques Roadshow, haven't you? I read somewhere that at every event, there are at least 2 or 3 people that bring that in.

No, just a huge fan of Pete, Rog, Moonie and The Ox.

Me too. Last Halloween my kids and I made a cd of spookyish songs to play in the car. "Boris the Spider" is on the disc 3 times. We're huge Who fans.

Most of Entwistle's songs are black humour classics. I'm pretty sure this outtake from Face Dances was written by Pete, but it's appropriate for Halloween.

It's a real cool album, Hendrix does Redding's songs and Redding does Hendrix's songs.

I'd love to make it available to others since it doesn't seem to be available in any other format. And when I checked Wikipedia it wasn't included in Redding's discography. When I buy a new record player this year I'll be sure to get an audio output for my computer and digitize it.

I'd never heard of this. :O

Some of my rare bits of vinyl (as in songs you don't find anywhere else) is How Would You Feel. There's a version by Curtis Knight with Hendrix on guitar and another version with Hendrix doing the vocals too.

I used to have the 1967 7" of See Emily Play by Pink Floyd. It was crackly as hell, but also very cool.

A crackle on that intro sounds so right.

I've got that on a cheap album I got in the early 70s. There was another Hendrix track too.

I do vaguely remember the Redding/Hendrix album but had never actually heard it.

My vinyl treasures?

Has to be some of the prog stuff with special gatefold covers which of course never works with CDs.

Tales from Topographis Oceans by Yes.

I loved when they used to make outlandish vinyl records, my favourite was this John Cooper Clarke release.

With all the music lovers on this forum I figured I can't be the only one who loves listening to records.
I'm always coming across folks who are tossing out their parents old records and I find myself excitedly shuffle through them trying to strike gold.
So for those who still hold on to their vinyl I ask this question:
What is your most prized record? Or greatest find?

Here is my top Vinyl find of all time:

Otis Redding/ The Jimi Hendrix Eperience Otis Redding & The Jimi Hendrix Experience LP by mando maniac.Recorded at the Monterey International Pop Festival, June 1967
I came across this one while rummaging through my mothers old records filled with predominantly Rod Steward, Beetles, Canadian Folk that I think every Elton John album in existence. When I stumbled upon the album above in mint condition. I listened to it and asked her "mom! This a album is awesome! Do you have any more stuff like this?" she said "no I barely listened to it, I bought it because it was a 2 for 1 special with another album I wanted". I love this album so much I refuse to play it on my crappy record player until I can afford a better one (my parents one back home was a good record player).

Speaking of Hendrix on vinyl, look at the fun you can have with 2 copies of 'Purple Haze', if you've got two turntables and a mixer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i6VYWTifLQ

I took some broken records and put sculp and coat on them and stuck them in the ground (broken side in the ground)as a border around a flower bed. :D

You could buy another copy for US$10 and play that one instead:

I had a first pressing yellow Beatles' Revolver that I bought for 50p and 'lost' in a move. Oddly one of my brothers then asked me how much a original Revolver LP would fetch on ebay. I'm too shy to remind him that it's my bleeding record.
Angry

I have a Henry Badowski (ex-Damned etc) single that remained unidentified for years. No writing on label, only a matrix number but thanks to Internet it's "Baby Sign Here With Me c/w Making Love With My Wife"

Very eccentric, whimsical, and sparse - I love it.

Was that Henry Badowski thing connected to Elton Motello? Seems to ring a bell.

Sort-of not really. Henry Badowski was part of Captain Sensible's very short-lived band King, which covered Elton Motello's Jet Boy Jet Girl. Badowski then joined the Damned for a while. And of course the Damned still had Brian James, who had earlier played in Bastard with Alan Timms (aka Elton Motello). Simple.

I have a nice yellow pressing of Yellow Submarine (and plain old pressings of other Beatles records), but doubt it's worth much as it was among the final pressings of Beatles records made in Australia by EMI before everything went to CD and cassette.
