Ha. Ooh, and the girl was Natalie Imbruglia.

You know the Aussie bloke who's in House now, he was in Neighbours, wasn't he?

Yep! Billy Kennedy.

Erk!

41 is nothing. But I forgot he looked so much like a girl. Laughing out loud

I've just started remembering ancient H&A and Neighbours characters. Lance and Tim!

I've never seen a single epsidoe of Neighbours. But I did see a few of the early episodes of Home & Away as I knew the guy who played Lance. Lance was the dopey sidekick of a surfer loser named Martin. Was Tim a Neighbours character?

Lance!
And the twins Gail and Gillian!

Which soap opera were they in? In the very early 80s, Gayle and Gillian sang the chorus and appeared in full KISS makeup in the video clip of a song called (What Will We Be) Singin In The 80s. The clip was played seemingly every weeknight to fill up space between The Goodies and Doctor Who. It was also played before the news (à la The Magic Roundabout in England). A few years later, Gayle and Gillian were occasional co-presenters of a kid's show called Wombat (a bit like Emu, only funny, and with a very crude wombat puppet as host).

Here's the clip for Singin In The 80s, not a great song (but it's a reminder of watching Doctor Who and The Goodies). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a513UDVHTBw

Indeed. 80 is old. 70 is the new 50, etc.

I haven't even clicked this link, but by the mere mention of that "song" you have opened a portal in my brain to a world of pain and terror. I spent years repressing that piece of music to the darkest backwaters of my mind, now you've forced it back into the forefront of my consciousness with a sudden Proustian rush.

Where's your humanity, sir? Teary

I've done worse here. Such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POv-3yIPSWc - which Lee Henman seemed to enjoy, if I recall correctly.

Ha! I am immune to your Black Lace, sir, having been to a Butlin's holiday camp in the 1980s. Pleased

TTPYO - that children wake up so early however late they go to bed.

Who was the big blond surfer guy? I liked him.

He was in the original pilot for My Hero and was much better imo.

Actually that was Henry. :) But to be fair he was a big blond surfer too.

I didn't like Henry. He was Kylie's brother wasn't he? There's also a clip somewhere of him trying to do stand-up (although I am tad bleary-eyed this morning and so might be imagining it) - I bet Kenneth knows where to find it.
