I think it was just called 'the world' or 'life'. It's only in very, very recent history that women have (almost) enjoyed the same rights as men.

So it's all down to the men of my generation? Great!

What's the male equivalent of feminism? Maleism?

Misogyny.

I don't think I said that. But there is still a massive hangover from centuries of male domination. Women are still very often expected to look pretty and sit in the corner quietly and agree with the menfolk and that is sadly a fact. It's not true of everyone, everywhere, but like it's like saying racism doesn't exist anymore to say it doesn't happen.

But why did you delete all your work (and some of your posts)?

It's a shame really!

:)

Hi Mo!

It's always a good idea to clean up after one's self. Leave a place as you found it, etc, etc.

Additionally, had my postings remained in place, it was almost certain that people would have posted reviews and/or comments to which I would have felt obliged to respond and, depending upon the nature of the exchange, that's not always conducive to board harmony, as we've seen. Huh?

Aw, come on Roodeye! Wave Please apologise to Dolly; re-post your stuff and I'm sure everything will work out.

Hey - James Cotter has taken a lot more stick than you and he's still with us - at the time of posting that is!

:D

For the record he/she did apologise to me, whether it was genuine or not I honestly don;t know.

Well you seem to be coming back and posting plenty!

In general, deleting posts is a bit annoying, it causes threads not to make any sense. And actually makes more of a mess rather than 'cleaning up', although your reasons do make some sort of sense.

I'm very happy to apologise for any offence I may have caused Dolly.

The thing about the Internet is that, because we usually know next-to-nothing about the people we chat with and the people whose postings we read, we often take cues from what they write and we project onto those people all the characteristics of other people we've known who had a few similar characteristics.

Sometimes, that causes us to believe a person is very nice and sometimes it causes us to believe a person is NOT nice.

And it's so easy to be wrong.

It's a funny old world. Cool

sometimes it causes us to believe a person is a complete and utter quartet of asterisks.

You don't seem to want to apologise Roodeye.

You have again called Dolly a complete and utter c**t.

I'd like an explanation why?

But have you learnt how to spell squirrel yet?

If anyone needs lessons in how to spell squirrel correctly, just let me know. I know how to spell squirrel.

I may be, but unless you've met me I'd say it was impossible to tell.

I've certainly not called Dolly ANYthing, Marc.

I was speaking in purely general terms about about how easy it is to form extreme views about people on the net.

I have edited my posting in order that further misunderstandings might be avoided.

Now please stop your troublemaking.
