Super Hero Super Squad

Apologies for doing this as I posted this up earlier but wanted to check something.

When I posted this last time I got quite a few comments about some of the voices not being dynamic enough; which may be the case. However I should have pointed out that the girl on the left of the sofa is meant to be brainless and the man in the costume on the right was bitten by a radioactive lemming and so has no enthusiasm whatsoever. With that in mind do their voices work? Or should I redo those 2? Or should I redo all of them?

Again, sorry for posting to this again, but as animation takes so long I want to make sure on everything before I get too far into it. I'd be very happy to anyone who could take a quick look and give feedback. The clip's only a minute long.

Best wishes and hoping I'm no bother

Well if I mentioned this before, then I take it back. I really like this animation and want to see more. Reminds me of those you used to see on CITV a few years ago.

Maybe you could try posting just the audio track up, and letting us decide whether the voices have individuality, based purely on the writing and acting?

Cheers Leevil. Putting up the audio track might be a good idea. Just hope I don't clutter up this critique board with too many posts.

Still, if anyone else can take a quick look - most appreciated.

P.S. Ah, Tiny Toon Adventures on CITV. Those were the days.

Edit your first post to include a link to the audio track ;)

That may have been me, and with your comments in mind I've rewatched it. I think my problem is still with the man in the costume you mentioned. Although he may have no enthusiasm his voice still doesn't come across well. I sounds like you're (or whoever) just reading the script without any idea of who the character is. I'm not sure what it needs (maybe some different mannerisms) but it needs something.

I hope this helps, and I really like the rest of it. :)

Steady! :D

Even though this is after my time, I know I would've loved 'King Arthur's Disasters' which is the kind of thing I meant.

Cheers Nil. Yes it does help. Will probably redo him.

Disgustingly I never saw King Arthur's Disasters. A shame as it looks like the sort of show I'd love (Rik Mayall AND Matt Lucas - Damn!)

Never heard of that. :)

Oh good. :)

I liked it Yacob - it was funny. I wasn't too sure about the thing about communism and I agree with Nil about one or two of the voices. I don't know, they need more punch. But these are minor things which could easily be sorted - (says he who has never done animation.)

Perhaps replace communism with big business, government or any of the climate change deniers.

Never heard of that. :)

I've only seen bits of it, but what I saw was quite good. I wish I could sit and watch kids shows, but I can't, it feels wrong.

Does it?

I'm actually watching The Fantastic Four - World's Greatest Heroes at the moment. :$

Laughing out loud

I try and watch my old favourites, but they don't hook me like they used to. Although, I will never get bored of Tom & Jerry or the Looney Toons, which I was actually watching last night and LOLing my head off.

Thanks Alex. Yeah, someone else said something about the Communism bit. The guy saying it is meant to be a Captain America take-off (bit of a dated reference maybe) and he was obsessed with Communism.

'Garfield and Friends' on CITV. Another beautiful show.

Just thinking out loud: if the girl is brainless and the costume guy has no enthusiasm, then those two characters seem a bit too same-y to me. I'd either combine them, or cut one out. But it's difficult to judge, having only watched a minute.

Apart from that, I liked it. It reminded me a little of Roger Ramjet.

Cheers Don. The costume guy is meant to be intelligent (although we don't really see that yet. Probably something I'm going to have to get across in the redone voice) so hopefully they'll be enough of a difference between the two. Also the girl is enormously vain unlike the guy, who couldn't care less.

Think I remember Roger Ramjet but not sure. Will have to Google.
