You're actually rasing my ire now, Leevil.

Well, as much as I love HBO, I can't wank over everything it produces.

Snuff Box is worth a look if you haven't seen that. Some very funny stuff in that.

Seconding that.

But that's what Entourage is for!

Will check Snuff Box out. :)

Leevil, what's your taste? Real modern stuff? Old stuff? 1990s? 1980s? Family-friendly or something a little darker?

Bromwell High

But that's what Entourage is for!

There was certainly a lot of gratuitous f**king in that last season, Gawd bless 'em!

Um, I dunno?

Alan Partridge, Father Ted, It Crowd - Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Not too keen on Sci-Fi and apart from something like Life and Times of Tim, I'm not looking for animation. It's hard to narrow it down.

I'll try and rephrase the question:

Anyone bought any decent comedy DVDs lately?

Dr Katz and The Critic, two very funny shows. :)

I remember Dr Katz and hasn't the Critic been in an episode of The Simpsons? Is it voiced by Jon Lovitz? Cos if it is: I'm in! :D

Sorry youngian, watched the first series of Deadwood, hoped I'd enjoy it with every new episode, but I didn't.

Oh well, assuming you've seen all the other much talked about HBO shows like the Wire, how about GF Newman's Law and Order? Nothing to do with the more famous US show, this is the best cop series ever made and was re-released on DVD last year after languishing on the BBC shelves for 30 years. I believe the Home Secretary in 1978 warned the BBC not to show it again or sell it abroad for portraying Met officers taking backhanders, fitting up villains and doing deals with bent briefs. Where did they get these far fetched ideas!
Also from the same period Secret Army- you will forget the Allo Allo spoofs in five minutes, totally riveting drama from beginning to end.

Indeed it is. "It stinks!" was his catch-phrase. ('The Critic' also features the voice of Charles Napier as his boss.) :)

The Critic is wonderful!!! One of my all time favourites!!! I can't look at boxed candy without laughing hysterically.
