My English friend who lives in America said that he loves the fact that they are proud to be American and you can see the flag everywhere.
The English flag is often considered racist.
I have two thoughts/opinions on this. On one hand, it's nice that we don't need to; that we have some kind of innate identification that doesn't rely on a flag or whathaveyou.
In theory.
In reality, your last sentence is spot on. And like I was saying earlier, so much of our history and heritage is being forgotten, misunderstood and misrepresented (the BNP thrive on this), that I would love to see some British - and more to the point, English - flags around more often.
