I have a video capture thingee and it works well. I've never even had to deal with sound being out of sync.

I have a capture device around here somewhere, but I can't find it.

The beauty of old Digital8 cameras was that they would accept an analogue signal and would spit out a digital signal via Firewire. No problem with dropped frames so far. (Those are what cause audio sync issues.)

I also hooked my old hi-8 up to my DMR and recorded onto DVD that way. They turned out very well too. :)

Back in the day, I was always running out of VHS tapes and often recorded other content onto the blank spots at the end of my already recorded tapes. It looks like I did so at the end of my Disney World tape: there's a TV news special about a soldier, his wife and baby who found themselves trapped in the snow in Nevada. He was a SATCOM soldier who was stationed at my old post a few months after I left the Army. My friends all knew him and he became a bit famous after his ordeal. They made a TV movie about it which starred Dougie Howser.

That was on TV not too long ago. Small world.

I think the Survivor Man dude did something about their ordeal a few years ago.

Was it the good guy that actually roughs it or that one that stays at hotels when the going gets tough? :)

Officially editing my first draft. At times I feel like I'm choosing between my kids in picking what stays and what goes.

Obviously you sacrifice the lame one.

Ellie is glad that she is going home after a bad day at work with a poorly back! :(

Ben is off to re-read about macromolecules.

Aaron is being annoyed by the Olympics again.

Aaron is being annoyed by the Olympics again.

Why??

Cos it's crap maybs?

They're trying to get him to represent us in the triplejump again.

Why??

Because it's a load of badly planned, ill-thought-out, expensive rubbish.

Specifically today: it has emerged that the body in charge of making sure that everything is dealt with after the games have ended, that venues have people/sports clubs to take them over, that nothing is left unoccupied and rotting away etc, have no control over the massive, central development that is the Olympic Village itself.
