Quote: Renegade Carpark @ October 14 2009, 2:06 PM BSTIn Hackney, you often hear 'you know what I'm saying?', 'you feel me', 'cuz', 'blood', 'boyee' and 'innit' at the end of most sentences.
I believe it's spelt "Blud" not blood.

I loved Hollywood Shuffle. Especially the Siskel & Ebert spoof, reviewing the latest 'Chicago Jones' movie!
You guys see the preview for Black Dynamite It looks pretty fun.
Yeah, perhaps... Parodies of blaxploitation movies are a little old hat now (I'm presuming this is that type of film). They made more sense in the 80s and early 90s when there was a truly dreadful dearth of acceptable roles for black actors. There were some original and serious points to be made via jokes.
Haven't we seen all the afro, pimps, ho', jive etc jokes that could possibly have been made by now? Unless this has something going for it beyond a parody of Shaft-type films, then it doesn't sound that promising.

You talking about movies like black to the future?

Like when people can't bring themselves to say 'me', even though it's grammatically correct, and have to say 'I' or 'myself' instead.

Oh yes, our local TV news programme has a lady who always says I when she should say me. I probably should have put that in quotes but I'm having a day off from bothering about grimmer ond spolling.
I used to work with someone who would gag at the word 'torso'.

Yes! "Between you and I" = noooooooooooo!
Also the oft committed tautology 'from whence' bugs me lots.

I actually slightly panicked then and had to go back and check!
You devil you!
Fruit, crisps, and the recent advert fad for ending all words that end in a 'D' with a 'T'. Listen out for Somerfiel-T and Foo-T.
Oh, and Auto Emocion. Crap foreign words made all the less attractive by reducing it to a hurried whisper.
