Not necessarily. The body has the wonderful capacity to heal itself up to a point. The pictures on the cigarette packets are not the norm. Lungs, even of smokers, usually still appear nice and pink and lovely until they are irrevocably damaged.

Australian possums appear to be much cuter than American possums. Ours have naked, rat-like tails and always appear to be disheveled and mangy.

They are, but it's commonly shortened to 'possum.'

Because they have to try to dwell amoungst drive way huggers and kids with battery buggies.....eh? Not to mention, hummers, ford 350's and guns.

Yuk. I hate Possums they're nasty little critters with razor teeth.
And when their young swarm their ass it grosses me out. Reminds me of those 'King Rat' stories.

I'm quite certain that opossums are naturally ugly and it's not a side effect of guns, trucks or urban dwellers.
